Definition of the word "inspired"
What about other books that claim to be the word of God?
Each section is contrasted to the Book of Mormon
It's contents should be beyond the ability of mans writing creativity
It should be able to withstand the test of time and attacks of critics
Quote from Time magazine
The historical part of it should be able to be confirmed with archeology, it should be historically accurate throughout its entirety.
It's prophetic messages should not be able to be proven false.
There should be evidence to show past fulfillment of its prophecies.
Science should not be able to prove its message to be untrue

Since the book claims to be ancient there should be some sort of manuscript evidence verifying its transmission of the text to
be accurate
Its message should have the ability to change people's lives
